What is a 'trip' or 'slip'?
Pretty well what you would imagine. A 'trip' is where something is sticking up and causes you to lose your balance, whilst a 'slip' is where something causes you to lose traction as you are walking or running. I say lose traction, because though most 'slips' are caused by a person losing their footing due to things like wet floors, or even stray fruit laying on the floor; some 'slips' occur when a person with a walking stick has the walking stick move away from them unexpectedly.
How many times have you caught your toe when walking along an uneven pavement? You stub your toe, maybe stumble, regain control and walk on cursing the Council, or whoever you think is responsible. They spend so much time digging up the pavements, and it seems so little relaying them properly.
Most Trips are just an irritation, but what do you do if you end up with injuries? A simple fall on a pavement can give you some nasty injuries, and you don't have to be that old either.
A twisted ankle may put you off work, stop you doing your shopping, enjoying sports, the list goes on. A broken ankle or leg will do much more, and cause many more problems.
Or, how about falling in a Supermarket. It sounds funny if you slip on a grape, but it's not if you end up having to have dental work, or physiotherapy; and that will cost you a lot of money. That happened to one of Barry's Clients.
ALL of these Companies, be they Council, Government or Private, have a Duty of Care towards people using premises, places under their control. If they fail in that care you can obtain compensation for your injuries.
But besides compensation for the injuries, you are usually able to claim for damage to personal property including clothing and mobile phones, or computers, or glasses, etc. How about all the money you have to spend visiting Doctors, or Hospital, not to mention Prescriptions, taxis, or paying someone to do all the things you can't do for yourself because of the accident.
Barry was told by one of his clients that the client had successfully claimed for having a tradesman finish building the wall that the client had been in the middle of constructing. So it is worth asking the question. One phone call could make all the difference.
If you want to know if you can make a Claim - call Barry today on 07917 103554 or send him an e-mail with your contact details so he can call you.
That phone call could pay your bills if you are injured, and get you compensation for your injuries and losses.
