1. Short Stay Travellers Sites within the South Norfolk District Area.
The SNDC have a legal requirement to provide Temporary Sites within its boundaries. To decide how many and where they produced a survey and Report which was published in July 2006 - 'Gypsy and Traveller Needs Survey South Norfolk Findings - Final Report agreed by Gypsy and Traveller Working Group July 2006.'
This report was to form the basis for deciding how many Sites were required and where they should be located.
It is my belief that the Report is flawed both in its Methodology and its Conclusions
To this end I have provided links within this Website to both the Report and my Analysis of it.
The findings of the Report are now being ACTIONED. There has been a 'Consultation' in Thetford (Do check that one out, it is quite an eye opener), and it has appeared in the latest copy of 'The Link'.
I would totally agree that it is only Right that Travellers should have access to proper stopping places, but Decisions which affect them and the Local Community should be based on Facts. I do not believe this is the case. If unchallenged this Report and the Actions arising therefrom could be dangerous to Communities. It is important that Everyone has a proper say in what is happening.
