Barry provides a Service to Individuals with home computers.
Installation
Barry will install computers from opening the box and connecting the wires, through to the setting up internet connections and onwards to the creation of wireless networks for the home. He will give advice about equipment, but does not sell equipment and can thus provide an unbiased opinion on equipment. He does not recommend Companies or Individuals so that the Customer makes the choice themselves. He guarantees to explain everything in language you can understand, and to make suggestions based on your own criteria, without trying to encourage you to spend money unnecessarily.
Maintenance
Barry will maintain computers performing all the tasks necessary to keep the computer in tip top condition. Whilst doing so he will demonstrate and explain the procedures to the Client to enable the Client to perform the relevant tasks. So if the computer is not running as well as it could, a visit from Barry would be an investment for the future
Problem Solving
Computers are wonderful - when they work!. Unfortunately sometimes they don't which is where you need someone to come in and fix them. But if that is the case then you need to know how much it is likely to cost, and that there are no hidden charges. Barry will always tell you his prices before you commit yourself to any visit, and you should always ask, before committing yourself. Barry provides a full service in the curing of computer problems, but does not ordinarily repair the hardware of computing.
Because of his personal commitment to fairness and transparency within the Business enviroment, together with a commitment to value for all his potential Customers Barry provides a FREE helpline. (and Free means Free, ie without cost)
Thus this website contains advice on computer problems ENTIRELY FREE OF CHARGE. Barry is willing to respond to computer related queries without charge on an individual basis. Where the problem is not easily rectified, it may, if the user wishes, be moved into the Business arena - but this may incur charges. Barry's charges are kept as low as possible to enable private computer users to gain assistance without unreasonable expense.
Tuition
All Tuition carried out by Barry uses the equipment provided by the Person concerned. This is to ensure that the person is taught how to use their equipment and programs, and not equipment or programs to which they will not have access once the Tuition is completed.
Where the computer has not been seen by Barry before, the first half hour of Tuition is FREE. The logic behind this, is that without having seen the computer and programs available it cannot be said whether it is possible to even carry out the Tuition. e.g. If the person wishes to be taught about how to use the computer to prepare drawings, without knowing if the computer has a drawing program to the standard required, how can they be taught? Thus the first hours payment actually covers an hour and a half in real time.
Barry provides Tuition from one on one, to small multiples but using the computer equipment of the Client. Charges start off low, but may rise depending on the complexity of the matter being taught. The unique feature of the Tuition arrangement is that the length of lesson, frequency of lesson and subject of the lesson is entirely at the Client's discretion, on a lesson by lesson basis.
Where required Barry can create the necessary software to the Client's wishes, such as databases, mailmerge letters, etc.
